Why choose LED over the more traditional Fluorescent lighting ?

Whilst the LED lighting is initially about 20% more expensive to buy than the traditional equivelant (fluorescent in this case), the life expectancy, lower maintenance and running costs make a great deal cheaper in the longer run.

• LED's require approx 80% LESS electricity to run, - so you'll generally get your money back in less than a year.

• Typically a fluorescent tube will last 8000 hours, whilst the LED equivelant will last 50,000 hours, which means that you're not paying someone to get the ladders or scaffold out & change the tubes every 18 months or so, - probably the greatest saving ! 

• Fluorescent tubes contain mercury, and are considered 'hazardous waste' which makes disposal a bit of a problem, -  whilst the LED's contain nothing toxic or hazardous.

• Your Carbon Footprint is around 60% lower with LED's compared to fluorescent.
